This is a convenience translation. The binding version of this text is the German one, available at https://heloatelier.com/agb.
These terms apply to every order placed through heloatelier.com.
The pieces offered here are made by hand in Berlin in small runs and sold from existing stock. How many pieces of a colour and finish are left is stated with each product. Once a piece is taken, it is shown as sold out.
The presentation of products on this site is not a binding offer but an invitation to you to order. By completing the payment process you make a binding offer. The contract comes into being when we confirm your order by email. Stripe’s automatic payment confirmation is not yet an acceptance.
We may decline an order, for instance when the run is already fully allocated. In that case no contract comes into being and we refund the amount paid in full and without delay.
All prices are final prices. Under the small business rule of § 19 UStG we do not charge VAT and therefore do not show it.
Shipping costs are stated with each product and shown to you before you place the order. A separate rate applies to deliveries outside Germany; it is shown during checkout, before you submit the order.
The delivery time is stated with each product. We ship from existing stock. If delivery is delayed, we will tell you without being asked and give you a new date; you may then withdraw from the contract and any money already paid is returned.
Instead of delivery you can collect your piece in Berlin. Shipping costs then do not apply. We will be in touch after the purchase to arrange a time; there is no shop to browse.
We deliver within Europe: to all member states of the European Union, and to Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Norway.
For deliveries to Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Norway, the parcel leaves the customs territory of the European Union. Import VAT, customs duty and the carrier's handling fees may be charged there. You bear those amounts in addition to the purchase price; they are levied by the authorities in your country, not by us, and we cannot state their amount in advance.
Payment is due at purchase. Payments are handled by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.; which payment methods are available is shown during checkout. Card details are entered only at Stripe and never reach us.
The amount is therefore due before dispatch. If delivery does not happen for reasons within our control, we refund the full amount including shipping costs.
For individual pieces we offer reservation without immediate payment instead. Nothing is charged when you order, and you receive the invoice once your piece is ready to ship, payable by bank transfer within fourteen days. Which applies to your piece is shown during checkout.
Under Second Chances we sell one-off pieces: our own prototypes and photo samples, returns, archive pieces, and checked used products from other makers. Each piece exists exactly once.
Every piece states its condition and the reason it is here. These statements form part of the agreed quality: if the actual condition differs, that is a defect and you may return the piece. Used goods are cleaned and checked before shipping.
We sell used products from other makers as an independent reseller. There is no business relationship with those makers.
The statutory two-year warranty applies to used pieces. We do not shorten it.
The right of withdrawal applies to Second Chances unchanged, including one-off pieces. The details are in the withdrawal policy.
The goods remain our property until paid for in full. As payment is made in advance, this is normally satisfied before shipping.
Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal. The details are in the withdrawal policy.
Helo Journal is published as a digital edition in PDF format. Purchase runs through Stripe. The contract comes into being once payment is confirmed. There is no shipping and no shipping cost.
After payment you are taken to a page where the file is ready to download. You also receive the link in the confirmation from Stripe. If the download does not work, write to us at info@heloatelier.com and we will send the file.
The file is for your own use. Passing it to third parties, publishing it or reselling it is not permitted.
What you need to know about the right of withdrawal for digital content is in the withdrawal policy and, before purchase, again on the page for the edition.
Statutory warranty law applies. If something is wrong, write to us. With handmade pieces we would rather put it right than have you keep it and be annoyed.
Small variations in colour, grain and texture are not defects in leather but properties of the material.
We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
German law applies. If any provision of these terms is invalid, the remainder is unaffected.
